Performers Wanted!
Cornwall's Regimental Museum is looking for volunteer performers to take part in The Trench at Bodmin. There are numerous roles on offer, either within the main immersive trench experience, or as part of four short plays being performed at the museum itself.
A meeting for anyone wishing to get involved will take place at Cornwall’s Regimental Museum on Tuesday 30th January 2018 at 7pm. Please do come along and find out more about this exciting event.
Should you wish to try your hand at performing then please contact us. No experience is required as you will be supported by a professional production team, directors and actors. Minimum age 12.
More about The Trench at Bodmin:
As part of the First World War centenary commemorations, Cornwall’s Regimental Museum will be the setting for an intense theatrical experience during the summer of 2018.
The Trench at Bodmin will see audience members enlist at the Keep to ‘join’ the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry Regiment, before being kitted out in uniform and receiving an identity, based on a real person who enlisted at Bodmin and who fought in the conflict. Audiences will then journey by Bodmin & Wenford Steam Railway straight to the trenches, where they will encounter a simulated version of life on the Western Front.
Thanks to a Heritage Lottery Fund award, and funding from FEAST and Arts Council England, the project is now starting to gather momentum. The museum will be working in collaboration with Collective Arts Ltd., a Cornish theatre company that specialises in large-scale, epic events. The company will be working with students from Bodmin College and alongside community and professional actors to bring the event to life.
